In certain cases, the location of our Spartan Stuffing Box warrants a supplemental water flow to keeping the packing cool and the bearing lubricated. Generally, where the stuffing box is located at the end of a long shaft log or high RPM's are generated by the prop shaft. Our Water-Injected Stuffing Boxes help solve this problem with a stainless steel nipple installed for a 3/8" ID hose. Our solid cast bronze stuffing box series offers a notched packing nut and check nut.

Spartan stuffing box wrenches are custom fitted to our stuffing boxes. A simple ball peen hammer and screw driver are can also be used to break the check nut loose for adjustment in a pinch.
